The Resource Specialist Program safeguards compliance in servicing students with disabilities, including implementation of the Modified Consent Decree (MCD) outcomes and District special education policies and procedures. 

I grew up in East Los Angeles and have worked with students from kindergarten to young adults transitioning into a career or college program at the high school level.  I am knowledgeable of special education District, state and federal mandates and help guide my school in proper school-wide compliance and in presenting best instructional practices as they relate to individuals with exceptional needs.  I am committed to working with families as a school community resource that acts as a liaison to link necessary resources and develop instructional and positive behavior supports for struggling students, particularly in regards to their learning disabilities and acquisition of English as a second language.
